Follow These Steps:
STEP 01) Measure onsite the OVERALL lengths where you want your new DIY Fence to go. (Ensure to add dimensions for Gate Locations)
STEP 02) Simply draw your fence out on a blank page, include gate locations
STEP 03) Start Marking out the Center to Center Post Locations (aka CC) using the following dimensions:
STEP 04) Next calculate the number of Fixed Panels you will need:
.
* Depending on the hinge used, this will change the gap required
⊕ Deluxe Self Close Hinges = 20mm Gap
⊕ Heavy Duty Steel Hinges = 25mm Gap
Post selection for security fences are based on the height of your security fence and whether you want to Bolt-Down or Cement In…
Bolt-Down = 2400mm Posts
Cement-In = (See below)
Typical Dimensions:
The steps required to install your posts will change depending on the type of posts you wish to install (Bolt-Down or Cement-In)
TIP: The typical total gap between your post and your security fence panel should be between 5-15mm, When we install Security Fence Panels we like to have 5mm Gap both sides of the panel
STEP 01) Start Marking out the Center to Center Post Locations (aka CC) using the following dimensions:
STEP 02) Set the heights (Height where your brackets will connect to your posts) on both ends using a string-line
TIP: We typically find having 2 levels (Top & bottom bracket) heights to be best, otherwise setting the bottom level first is easiest until you install the first & last posts…
STEP 03) Start by installing & leveling your first and last posts ensuring your posts either gently touching the string-line or are 1-2mm away. (You will use these two posts as the guide for all other posts)
CHECK LEVELS Always triple check your levels, Simply look down the surface of your posts to ensure all posts are inline with one another.
*For custom Panel widths you will need to cut down the panel to suit (super easy to do)
Installing security panels are easy and its highly recommended for two people to install each panel as you will need to lift and hold panels in place while fixing in place the brackets.
STEP 01) Using your bottom or top string-line (This string line level will be use to set the height of your brackets) mark along the posts where the string line touches the post (aka where the bracket will go)
TIP: Installing On A Slope: If you mark all posts and the mark is higher on one end of the panel space, use the highest mark as the security fence panel will be installed level leaving a slightly bigger ground gap on the lower side
STEP 03) Quick test fit of your panel, place the panel in the bracket and have your assistant hold the panel level, next go round and mark the posts for your remaining bracket heights.
STEP 04) install the Top & Bottom brackets on one side of the post.
For the other side of the panel, slide the top & bottom brackets on ready to fit the panel into place, Then fit the panel into place
STEP 05) Ensure the panel is level, now secure all other brackets into place.
and repeat with each panel ensuring you double check levels and heights.
